Hey I'm Jess, the maker behind 119 Leather Co.
Growing up riding horses I've always loved leather goods and working hard. In 2018, with a newborn and infant, my curiosity got the best of me and I decided to try making my own travelers notebooks. After doing much research I purchased my very first hide of vegetable tanned leather from Tandy Leather. From that one hide I was able to make multiple notebook covers in various sizes and even made a Bible out of it for a customer.
After seeing these notebooks, my father-in-law asked if I could rebind his beloved Bible and it all went from there. Since then, Bible rebinding and leatherwork has become a passion for me and with the help of my husband it has transformed into a business. I love getting custom requests and seeing so many different versions of the Bible, all for one purpose. It's a privilege for me to get to rebind other believers Bibles and a lot of the time I am encouraged by the notes in the margins.
Together with our two kids, we are vessels for God living on a church retreat center in Northeastern Pennsylvania, USA.
Each Bible we receive is handled with care because we believe it is God's living Word and should be cherished. Our Bibles are designed to be lasting heirlooms passed down through generations.
